Youth on 16.06.2012

Yo yo yo! Whazzzzzzzzaaap!!
Here's what happened on the 16th of June :)

Prayer by Ben :)

Next, we had Tien Kit to lead us in an ice-breaker.
The aim
Pass the cups around when the music starts. When the music stops,
whoever gets caught will receive a forfeit!

The game organiser nearly getting caught by his own game :P

Tien Kit : "Hurry and take! The song won't stop at you wan"

*Song Stops*

Justin : "Haiyo!! Tien Kit ahh!"

Forfeit!

Then, we had an awesome time of worship :)
Guess who's the speaker?

Nope, not them. LOL.
But before that. Check out the blog for an upcoming update on the
fireBRANDS Family Night

So, we had Pastor Cowan to speak for us :)

So what did he speak about?

Worship

  • God promised Abraham that they will have a child!
    • But sometimes, we humans try to act smart and do things on our own.
    • Sarah was barren (an fyi)
  • When Isaac was born, he in the eyes of Abraham and Sarah is a precious child.
But in Genesis 22, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son Isaac. Although Abraham was rich, he could not replace Isaac.

Worship = bow down, give honour (in Hebrew)

Question : Are we able to give up what we treasure the most to worship God?

  • When we want to serve the Lord, the Devil will take every opportunity to destroy us.
  • Most of us will sacrifice ourselves instead of our loved ones
but sometimes
  • real worship requires hardship, sacrifice
---
1st Samuel chpt 29
  • Great worshiper of God - David (he wrote many Psalms)
  • Do know that if we humans try to 'act smart' with god, bad things will happen.
1st Samuel chpt 30
  • David and his followers tried to play safe
  • ephod - it is a garment for High Priests
    • it is used for worshiping God
  • When we worship, God will talk to us more
  • Can we get strength from God?
    • OF COURSE!
  • How do we solve problems?
    • Do we solve it like how David, Abraham did?
Another example of a worshiper - Job.
Job 1:20

Sometimes when we go through problems, we go all out to scold others who trespass us and even scold God. But we don't realize how much God has blessed us!

We cannot always stay in SquareOne, we have to learn to move forward.

Matthew 26:36

Gethsemane

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

What is the greatest worship?
That we put God first.

Are we able to let go of everything and worship God?

Challenge: Give your life to God fully!!

And that, concludes Saturday Night Service @ fireBRANDS! Join us this Saturday for an awesome night! :)

FAT (not the kind found in our bodies)

Welcome to the fireBRANDS service update. Woohoo!!! Aren't you excited, I know I am *smiley face*. Well anyways here's another update, well actually a post long overdue due to some technical errors. So here's what happened last two weeks ago (2nd June 2012)

Service started like it always does. With pre-service prayer.

Then it was time for pemecah ais (ice-breaker) *inserts another smiley face*

Which was led by Ken-Jeen. With help from his 4 friends.

Here's how it goes :
If Ken-Jeen says train, you got to get 5 people(including yourself) and from a train. Like the picture below.
And  if he (Ken-Jeen) asks for a flower, get 4 people and form a flower.
If he asks for  a traffic light, well get 3 friends form a traffic light.
Finally if he asked for Superman, get a friend and do the Superman pose.

Here's some pictures to help your mind imagine the scenery

Here's what the Superman pose look like.

Guess what this is???

And more Superman poses for the camera.

And here is an example of "The Traffic Light"

Well with ice-breaker done, it was time for worship. Led by Samantha Tan

After worship, a little announcements from Leroy.

And with that done, it was time for the sermon of the night.
Preached by non-other than Pastor Heok Cheow.

FAT
F - Faithfulness
A - Availability
T - Teachable

Faithfulness
God is looking for devotional people. Not just talent but faithfulness. With faith, we can stand strong through thick and thin. Life is not going to be easy or a walk in the park. Its full of challenges, suffer or not be faithful.

Life is full of hate, brokenness, bitterness and many more. There is much unfaithfulness in the world today. Be faithful to God and to the thing He gave you (talents).

Availability
God isn't just looking for abilities or talents but, He is also looking for our availability. Whether we are available or not. To be able to serve Him with what He has given to you.

Teachable
Be teachable. Someone that can be corrected and admit your mistakes. Not someone who has a big ego.We learn everyday so, be open to correction. we don't know everything thus, always avail yourself to God. Don't be thick skull. Be open and, listen.

Well this is ti for this post. That's all I have for this post and forgive me if I left anything out. My memory isn't so good after 2 weeks of school. Hehe, anyways see ya'll this Saturday.  Don't be late ! *smiley face*

-Speaker for the night
-Family night
-Leaders in Malaysia
-Journey with God

Next we had someone who paid us a visit.
Brian or..Brian?
Tips:
 :From Pulau Langkawi
: Came to AYC 2011 (Square One)

Which one? *drum roll* He is... Brian Ooi, of course.
(the one in black)

Oh, hi Isaac! Can't wait for ice breaker? That's right we all can't!

But, what does a toilet roll got to do with ice-breakers?
Well, let me tell you. Each person gets a chance to take as much tissues as you want.
Then, this is where the exciting part comes in.
Each person shall say something about themselves based on the number of tissues
they got.

Brian counting his tissues.
Isaac talking about himself..
Hey wait! Don't go yet! We have one more ice breaker install for everyone! *cheers*
A game everyone is familiar of.
1. Everyone is required to separate into  two groups.(people in college and people in schools)
2.Without talking, everyone must arrange themselves according to their birth date.
Oops, looks like the other group is ready.
HURRY UP!!

Celestine: That's right, We won!

After a wonderful time of ice breaker, its time to quiet down our hearts and get ready for worship.
Worship was led by Leroy and his team.
Leroy : Close the Red Sea please.

After worship, its announcement time.
Lost item : Pencil box with 'Ben 10' lead inside.

We also had Gary, going to KL for further studies.
He passed down his role as a floorball coach to Indy and Zeph.
Do keep him in prayer.
Next, we want to welcome our speaker or shall we say speakers for the night which are,Photo: Youth Service this week! Bring your friends along for an amazing night.
That's right, they are the Tans'.( Joshua and Samantha)
What did Sam shared about?

Patience

What is patience?- The ability to wait on something.

But what is patience in christianity?-The strength to wait on God for an answer.

- Sometimes God won't give us what we ask for.
-That's because our motive isn't the same with God's
-Until we get the right motive,God will not give you what you ask for.
- So, always pray for God's will/motive before you ask for anything.
- sometimes, God will answer you with a no, yes or wait.
-So, have patience

And what did Joshua shared about?

Just Do It !

Do you like the feeling of being criticised?
- 1 Timothy (4;12)
Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in your speech, in the way you live, in love and in purity.
Speech
- Do you know what you say is very important?
- It could affect other people
- Be careful in what you say and don't sin.
Love
- Love one another for God first love us.
- Help others with love and glorify God's name.
-The greatest commandment in the Bible is to love one another.
Faith
- Have faith in your God your Lord.
- Trust Him and lean not on your own understanding.
-Believe that God will open your eyes and direct a way for you.
Purity
-Be holy and be filed with the Holy Spirit.
-Be clean in the heart and mind
-Have clean hands and a pure heart.

Finally,we have Leroy to sum it all out and close in prayer.

And, this also ends the latest e-Buzz of fireBRANDS.

See you soon next week!
