Green

After youth camp, the fireBRANDS were still green (means fresh) and green (means sick) from 5 days of seeing each other, so they had something light.

VEGGIE NIGHT!

It's light because vegetables are light, not like starch or meat, so heavy.

And almost everyone came wearing green (means that colour between blue and yellow in the colour spectrum).

So, we started off with PRAYER.

All the green girls (well almost).. while all the green guys were helping in the sanctuary.

Prayer was led by Sharon.

Then the prayer group multiplied.

As you can see, a number of them were wearing the AYC t-shirts because they were still green from camp.

All the food so far, still green, not unpacked yet.

So finally the people came and we started!

With ICEBREAKER, by our very own Pastor Victor Lim.

Two icebreakers: Chiak Bak (Eat meat! wonder what happened to veggie night) and Dodgeball.

With green and yellow balls, the same ones used in AYC.

Cones = boundaries. Everyone paying attention to the demo with Gary as the model.

Getting up and ready to 'eat meat'.

Ice break already, time to watch VEGGIE TALES!

Two episodes.

First one: A Cucumber (i think?) meets and falls in love with a Rhubarbarian. The Cucumber fights against a supposedly Mighty Warrior, beating him in a joust and winning the part needed to complete the golden goose key. Key unlocks treasure, and Cucumber and Rhubarbarian live happily ever after.

Second one: Minnesota the Indiana Jones finds hidden treasure and faces competition from his arch nemesis, some professor. Long story cut short, Minnesota wins, but shows kindness to the professor, who terlalu terharu.

Sounds boring I know, but it wasn't! If you watch.

Tonton LCD.

Cucumber! (mingyen's choochoomber)

Finish watching d, ma EAT lor.

No lah, where got so fast.. it's youth service remember, always learn something wan.

So Pastor shared a lesson that's easy to learn but tough to practise: LOVE your ENEMIES. However horrible they are.

Okay okay, now EAT.

So hardworking, cut watermelon Christmas tree shape.. thankyou!

Eat and fellowship.

Thankyou to everyone who came and to everyone who brought food (I think more people came and less people brought food).

Love your enemies, means (for some of you) love your veggies!

*next week's youth service, it's Christmas PARTY, pls wear formal. and bring a gift for gift exchange!

L.A.T.E.

Hello, hello.sorry for the late update everyone.

As usual it all started with Bible class.Which was lead by the 'big' man James.xD

He talked about psalms 139.*read it up people.

The main 'persoalan' or point/question is, Why should we ask God to examine us even though he knows everything about us as said in the psalm.
Prayer time.
Praying for the awesome worship team that night

Ok now the moment we've all been waiting for. OK maybe not, but still. Its time for 'THE MESSAGE'.

We've all seen her,we all know her, she bakes cupcakes?. ANYWAY
Preacher that night was none other than EUNICE LEE.

WORDS
OF MY MOUTH.

Eunice talked about that little hole between your chin and your nose.

Yup.Its your mouth.

She talked about our mouth and words.

Our mouth, our tongues are thus mighty but hard to control.

Our words are :1.Tools

2.Instruments.a) To bring good or bring evil.

b) To fulfill the purposes of creation

c) To praise or glorify God or to do the works of Satan.

d) To build up or tear down.

e) Guide to truth or lead astray.

Amazing how many things words can do.I mean everyone knew words were powerfull but have you ever sat down and considered just how powerfull?.

With great power comes great responsibility.Lame as it sounds but its quite true.

Think that using words without thinking has no consequenses? Think again.

Proverbs 10 : 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of those who understand what is right. But those who have no sense are punished.

Proverbs 10 : 10 An evil wink gets you into trouble. And foolish chattering destroys you.

Thinking?

Proverbs 10 : 31 The mouths of those who do right produce wisdom. But the tongues that speak twisted words will be cut out.

Word of advice

Proverbs 12 : 22 The lord hates those whose lips tell lies. But is pleased with people who tell the TRUTH.

What should we want?

For God to take our lips and fill them with the messages from him?

For words of our mouth to be plesasing to God?

Ok. Been talking so much about the down side of not choosing your words properly. But now for the 'up side' of it.

By speaking wise words to other people, you get the joy of seing those you encouraged thriving in their work or in their homes.

Speaking wise words also helps builds up the people around you.

To summarize it up

Proverbs 10 : 11- 14 The mouths of those who do right are a fountain of life. But the trouble caused by what sinners say destroys them.(12) Hate stirs up fights. But love erases all sins by forgiving them.(13) Wisdom is found on the lips of those who understand what is right. But those who have no sense are punished.(14) Wise people store up knowledge. But the mouths of folish people destroys them.

*Sorry for the lack of photos.Anyone want to bless me with a camera?

A post by the OTHER guy AND that SAME girl.

OK, so, the evening started with BIBLE CLASS

Sadly, there are no pictures of bible class. *My Bad

Bible class this week was lead by LEROY.
It was mainly about Trust and Intimacy with God.

The main thing to remember is that, We need to trust God in life, in order to trust him fully, we first need to know him.Cause you wont trust someone you don't know right. So, to know God more, 'READ YOUR BIBLE, PRAY EVERYDAY' =)

*Then everyone went for dinner

OK. After 'makan' d we came back for PRAYER!! *which never seems to get old does it?

Gary : " All the boys sitting in the dark please Stand Up please stand up"

WORSHIP TIME!!

Worship that night was lead by Sharon Leow.
(now got 2 Sharon's d must say full name. xD)

-The L.C.D. guy that night was none other than Jin Ji.
-Daniel the soundman

Worship was followed with announcements by Ming Yen

NEXT.
Who was the speaker that night?.
PASTOR THOMAS!!.(salted peanuts. xD)

DAM YOU.

Yes you read right. That was the title of Pastor Thomas's message that night

A dam has 3 basic functions.

1.Receive water
2.Retain water
3.Release water

Romans 8:17 - And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) - if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.

Ephesians 1:3 - Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ.

The way this relates to us is, we should all be like a dam.We should

1.Receive God's blessing, power, annointing.
2.Retain it.Don't just listen to a sermon and forget about it 1 hour later.
3.Release it.The good news about Jesus is meant for EVERYONE.

RECEIVING.

If you think God has nothing for you, well your wrong.*duh

Ephesians 1 : 3 - Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ.

So you should be thankful with your blessings and use what God has given you for his purposes.Cause if you don't it would be like having a bank account full of money but not drawing from it.

When we trust Christ, He'll give us the whole package.

The absence of faith is displeasing to God.

Hebrews 11:6 - By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.

Now, WHAT IS FAITH?
(okay, i know we just jumped from DAM to FAITH, but NEITHER INDY NOR WEI-LYNN has gone crazy)

FAITH is.. (i couldn't tangkap a several words)
  • COMPLETE TRUST - CONFIDENCE - RELIANCE - FIRM BELIEVE - YEARNING - ABSOLUTE ALLEGIANCE - LOYALTY - FIDELITY - FIRM FOUNDATION
  • a handle of what we cannot see
Romans 1:17 - For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel - and not with clever speech, so that the cross of Christ would not become useless.
2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we live by faith, not by sight.

Hebrews 4:1 - Therefore, we must be wary that, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, none of you may seem to have come short of it.
  • ASSURANCE
  • CONVICTION
Romans 4:18 - And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Biblical faith is settled in the confidence of God.
  • Person of Jesus
  • Promises of God
Romans 10:17 - But the one who boasts must boast in the Lord.

Then, we moved on to.. MARK 4:1-9.
Sounds familiar? Well, coz it's the parable of the sower.

kingdom of God > natural farming process
word of God > seed
our heart > ground
us > the farmers.

Mouth <--connection--> Heart
  • Dont speak words not in your heart
  • Believe First in your heart before you speak.
the LAW of RECEIVING.
Whatever you say in abundance, hear in abundance, take in through your eyes in abundance, when you receive it will flow out in abundance.

Luke 6:43 - Simon answered, " I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled." Jesus said to him,"You judged rightly."
  • Your heart determines who you are
GOD JUDGES OUR WORDS BY OUR HEARTS. WE HAVE THE POWER TO OVERCOME ANYTHING THE DEVIL THROWS.

sorry for the boring post, the bottom half is from wei-lynn and the upper half is from indy.
so yeah, dont kill me if the bottom half is boring (says wei-lynn).
