THATS RIGHT!
Theme Night is this coming Saturday, people :)
Theme : ADVENTREASURE! (say wow!)
DONT BE LATE, 7 PM!

Speaker of the night : Pastor Cowan Yuen!

Yes, he shared about Psalms 139 :)

1 You have searched me, LORD,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalms 139.

God is everywhere, wherever you are, there He is :)

God knows everything about you, yes YOU. (Even that lil white lie you told your mom yesterday :O)

After that, Pastor Cowan shared about his testimony.

Summary : in whatever you do in life, whether big or small, always PRAY first. Simply because, He knows best.

WELCOME TO THE fireBRANDS BLOG!!!! The only place where we post the things that we have been doing in fireBRANDS! (duh)

Alleft (Alright, get the joke?), as usual, when the alarm rings at 7 pm (ahh, how nice if during weekdays, it would be the same eh?), everyone gathers round sanctuary 2 for prayer..

Q: So, what happens next?
A: Something. :P

Exactly! Something happens, but to be more specific, its time to go break some ice....

This time, Ben is the one making sure that the ice is broken
Well, this form of icebreaker we played, for years, it has been a great game.. Commoners, knights, armies, and even kings play this game.
Scissors....... Paper...... Stone! :P

Instead of playing it with our hands, we have to be the object itself.. get it?
If you picked stone, you kinda have to curl yourself up.. something like that...

ps:nicole wanted to vain so much, "pressure" me to take. lol!
It goes down to two pairs.....
And then, one pair left...
And, then Janice wins. Well, someone has to lose, Ivan... :P
Punishment : Penulisan Punggung... Or, Butt Writing if you prefer English

Okay, with no ice left to break, its time for the next session....
Time for wor-- preaching...
This week, we had a switch.. :D
Eulene, speaker of the week
Who can guess the title of what she talked about wins..
Okay fine, y'all cheated.. Its about Worship..

So, worship is important to everyone right?
What is worship to you?

"Communicating with God"
"Act of praise and to worship God"
"Giving praise"
were some of the answers... (which is true)
but now, let's summon the Oxford Dictionary and get a clearer definition about it
Mr. Oxford here says:
"To give praise or respect to God/a god", and "To love or respect a person or thing greatly"

And now, the question..
Who do you think we worship? God :)

If so, is God :
- What you think is most precious?
- What you make sacrifices for?
- What draws your warmest love?

Worship doesn't happen because of the songs we sing. It happens when we make God the SINGLE, MOST SIGNIFICANT thing in our existence.

When we worship, we worship in spirit and truth.. John 4:23-24 says that

"But, how do I worship in spirit?"
Good question..

1. Be converted
2. Be clean
3. Be consecrated
4. Be connected

How do you know if your worship is biblical?
-Examine the message
-Examine yourself (what is the motive of your worship?)

After that, we have.... yes, worship! :)

Awesomeness! :D

Hello again dear readers of the fireBRANDS blog :)
Here is an update of what happened at youth last week.

As usual pre-service started with prayers.

Prayer points: -Those taking exams or going to (SPM, STPM)
- The worship team
- The speaker for that night

And then something new. No toilet breaks. Yes people toilets are a thing of the past (haha kidding). So if you got to go unfortunately you got to hold it in.

Next was ICE-BREAKER! Woohoo!
Its boys VS girls. Aim of the game, stare at the opposing team and whoever laughs first loses . Winner stays unless its a draw. P.S you can make the other person laugh as long as you don't :)

First up brother vs sister.

And girls got first blood

Onwards to the next match.

As you can see by the pictures, this one went on for quite a while and
due to its length, it ended with a draw.

Next was Ben and Shiau Ting.

Shiau Ting won and Ben wanted a rematch.

And then it was Shaun's turn.

And I think we all know who won this one. ;)

And the next two matches were won by the boys.
Thanks to Nehemiah.

And it doesn't stop there. Next was Pastor Victor and Joyce.

Even though Joyce was smiling (but she wasn't laughing) she won the match.

After that, it was Eulene against Gary.
And Gary has a few tricks up his sleeves

And it worked!

And for the final match it was a double duel.

The boys won the first half. Now it was time for the second.

And it was very interesting.

Even though Sasi had tricks up his sleeves it was not helping him out.
So this match ended with a draw.

After the ice-breaker it was time for worship.

Then onwards towards the sermon and that night we had a special speaker.

Julian! :D

Julian is involved in Project Dance. Project Dance is a movement of dancers seeking to positively impact culture through artistic integrity.

He shared about how dancing can be a form of worship. There are two categories of dance. One is dance for participation and the other dance for presentation.

Dancing for participation:
- called social dance
-does not need spectators
-includes forms of religious dancing, work dances, recreational, and social dancing

Dancing for presentation:
-needs an audience
-preformed in theaters, royal courts, and temples
-requires specialized training and can be difficult to master

So if a church should start a dancing group, it should be based on dancing for participation

Can anybody dance??
Yes anybody can. No matter how young or old they are, or how physically fit. People in wheelchairs can spin and move in the time of music, while those who are immobile can move their hands or heads. Even deaf people can dance by feeling the vibrations of music and respond.

Well that is all for todays post. See you all next time :)
