The Routine Which Is Never Routine

There're many things I still have yet to write/do, some of which I wish would float over the hills and rolling plains below towards the rainbow beyond the clouds, where none reside and none would see and none would ever, ever bother about those things.

Unfortunately, that'd never happen, so here goes.

Photography: Pastor Victor & James Tan

Reminisce upon icebreakers of the days of old, whence they were still done by Joyce and a few of her friends, and you'd come upon a firm favourite, the brainchild of tassiedevil Daniel Teoh: the slapping game.
okay okay, i'll stop using that boring tone, if you insist...
But first, a question: what DOES it take for you people to LISTEN during icebreakers? sheesh.
Anyways. Sit it (not one, but) two circles, cross-legged, next to each other, number yourselves, start calling out numbers, and start slapping.
Wind blows, and guess what? You can interchange between circles while keeping your number.
And in the end, like a very happy fairytale ending, we become one big oval and live happily ever after.
Unless, of course, someone becomes too passionate about the game and slaps too hard making the slappee cry and laugh at the same time.
No hard feelings, though. To lighten things up, we have... photos!

A future chef getting ready to slap someone. Note: even if you can see your face in there, mr justin loh shern cho, kindly refrain from commenting on and complimenting your outward beauty.

Cue a cute lil' girl to brighten up the atmosphere and make you :)

Moving on, worship.
Sharon started with a bang! with an inspirational speech that'd perk up even Martin Luther King's interest.
Songs were mostly based on the fact that we need Him.
And the worship was awesome not because of the musicians nor the worship leader but the fact that the people gave their all to Him, whether they could feel His presence or otherwise.

Announcements. In video.
THERE WILL BE NO YOUTH SERVICE IN CENTRAL ZONE NEXT WEEK.
INSTEAD, GO TO FETTES PARK BAPTIST CHURCH FOR 'UNDER CONSTRUCTION' ORGANISED BY YOUTHWAVE.
Let's hope you people noticed that.

Joshua Yeoh.
Now if you weren't there that night then that's a pity, cuz you just missed an opportunity to get this man's autograph. (Not that any of the attendees did, but still, you could've.)
Awesome would be an understatement to describe his sharing with the fireBRANDS that night. He totally left what to share in God's hands, and just.. talked, according to what God told Him to.
It started with dividing into groups of 4, and sitting like that:

That's Eulene with the ponytail, Sarah with the other ponytail, Ming Yen with the long curly hair, and Asher the thorn among the roses.

Sitting. Listening. (Now if only y'all were this angelic during icebreakers. What, I need to carry Leroy's guitar too, then it'll work? Hey LEROY! Guitar please...?)

Josh talked.
We prayed (interceded: stood in the gap) for the person on our right.
Josh talked.
Some people who were confident that they could hear God's voice prayed upon the others.
We prophesied (edify: build up, exhort: encourage, comfort: comfort lar) for each person in our group.
Testimonies were shared by Nehemiah, Justin, Cayton, Joyce.
Josh talked.
End. At nearly 10p.m.

Never invite Josh over to share, cuz he doesn't know what he's sharing about.
