And now presenting the lovely pair,Sharon Leow & Justin Loh
Our dear Justin preached about, um something to do with the word 'conformed'
The way the word conformed is related to christians goes something like this
Christians who follow the ways of the world are conforming to the ways of the world.Get it?
Which means like your being influenced by the world and not influencing the world.
Lukewarm = christians who are not 'Hot' for God
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Now for his 'other half'
But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.
Jonah 1 : 1-3
Are you willing to be open to God's will and be ready to fulfill it?
Before we can follow him, we need to have unconditional surrender towards God.
"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
"Which ones?" the man inquired.
Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, 19honor your father and mother,'a]">and 'love your neighbor as yourself."
"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
Matthew 19 : 16-22
